My Son became a Sailor

This was Division 033 that Zack was in. Then there were 5 or 6 more Divisions to the right (which you cannot see all of them) Can you pic Zack out all those sailors?

I wish this picture was clearer. Our sailors were waiting outside for an hour. We did not know that it was snowing. When they opened that door it was beautiful seeing them standing at attention.
This is the flag ceremony. There was a flag for each state. It was really amazing to watch.
Zack graduated from Great Lakes Training Command and is now officially a Sailor! It was an awesome ceremony! Amanda and I left out from here early morning of the 27th. She drove 99% of the way, bless her heart! We had a good drive there and back. It snowed the day of the graduation and it was extremely cold. Zack got permission to stay all night with us. He had so many stories to tell and if you know Zack he has a way of telling a story! He will start "A" school in a few days and will be there until March 10th. He does not know where they will send him after that.

Brach's Chocolate Covered Cherries, Grandpa, and Me

Me, sitting on my grandpa's lap.
Mmmmmm...Brach's Chocolate Covered Cherries! Those memories go way back! When I was a little girl, oh about 5 years old my Grandpa would lead me into his bedroom. There he would whisper to me, "Now don't tell the other kids" and he would open his closet door and reach up on the shelf. There he would retrieve that beautiful box. The box of Brach's Chocolate Covered Cherries!! He would open the box and let me get just one. He would put the box back in the closet and watch me eat that candy. I thought I was his very favorite grandchild. I could easily have been too! He only had over 60 other grandchildren. Yeah, I am sure I was his favorite.

A few years ago I found an old Brach's Chocolate Covered Cherries box (empty, of course) at a thrift store. I display it every Christmas. Also, every Christmas I buy at least one box of Chocolate Covered Cherries in memory of Grandpa.

My Christmas Trees

This Tree has all of my favorite Shiny Brite and antique ornaments on it. if you look closely I have a very old empty Brach's Chocolate covered cherries box stuffed inside the tree. I will tell the story on it later.

This is the tree in my dining room. I love it! I made glittered words and fluer de lis to adorn it. I made the Angel tree topper. It has the face of my cousin when she was a child. Lots of sparkle!
This is my dining table. My angels are playing us a tune! Also pictured is my little angel collection. So Sweet!

I am enjoying having enough space this year for two Christmas trees! For the last 14 years I could barely squeeze one in my living room (but I always managed). This year I have a dining room so I put one in it. I had so much fun decorating my dining room!

The Ice Storm

Well, we made it through the ice storm. My poor trees are ripped to shreds. Waa Waa!! There is nothing I can do about it but help clean up the mess. We were without power for four days. So glad to have electricity again. I love electricity. Lots to do! Shopping and Christmas cards!! Merry Christmas!!

RED DRESS

I found this gorgeous little number at the thrift store the other day. LuLu said "Yes, buy it and I will wear it to the Christmas banquet." I knew that she would more than likely back out of that but I still had to have it. I already had in mind WHO would wear it. And she looks lovely!

The Very Coolest Christmas Window Displays

LuLu and I were driving home from church Wednesday night and I wanted her to see the neat window displays at an antique mall. We then decided they would make great Christmas theme backgrounds for pictures! She is quite the little elf!
